Setting up Netscape Messenger

Here's how to configure Netscape Messenger:

  1. Open Netscape Messenger
  2. Click on Edit on the menu and choose Preferences
  3. Expand the Mail and Groups Section on the left (do this by clicking the plus next to Mail & Groups)
  4. Click on Mail Server
  5. Set the following information:
    Mail server user name: [your username; example: me]
    Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: mail.cros.net
    Incoming mail server: mail.cros.net
    Choose POP3 for the Mail server type
    Click on More Options
    Put a check in front of "Remember my mail password" if you do not want to be prompted for your password every time you open Netscape Messenger
  6. Click on Identity
  7. Set the following information:
    Your Name:[Insert your real name here if you want it to be seen on your email messages--this is optional]
    Your Email: [insert your email address here; example: me@cros.net]
    Your Organization: [insert your company name here--this is optional]
  8. Click on the Organization tab
  9. Put a check in front of "Remember Mail Password" if you do not want to be prompted for your password every time you open Netscape mail
  10. Click on OK
  11. Your configuration is complete!
